"Stone is like the symbol of eternity. Every stone sculpture is exceptional, unique and inimitable. Perhaps it is possible copy form, but not the texture of stone. Thus, an idea to establish a park of unique sculptures came to my head. The creation of sculpture park started in spring 2001. Only Lithuanian artists participated in the first symposiums; sculptors from Baltic States participated in the second one and in the third one there were artists from all over the world. Thus, Vilnoja makes waves not only throughout Lithuania, but also through various countries of the world. The symposium is a perfect occasion for foreign sculptors to get to know our country and culture, to communicate and realize freely and at ease their ideas in Lithuanian granite very strong and hard." - Vidmantas Martikonis.
