Author about herself:
“I have always been interested in classical painting, especially impressionist portraits. The technique developed in them allowed artists to accurately convey the mood and character of the poser. The portrait genre is always interesting in that the artist’s self-expression and expression fully contributes and helps to reveal the person posing. And not only does it immortalize the person’s appearance, age, character, manner, but it also highlights it, makes it more obvious to both the viewer and the poser.
It is always interesting to delve into the mood of the person sitting in front of me, reflections of character, the state of that day, reflected in his face and body. His gaze at you, looking and observing you or at the surrounding environment, facial features and mood provide an excellent opportunity to discuss personality, seeking harmony between the academic requirements of drawing and painting, anatomy, external similarity and character.
I am interested in depicting modern people in a way that does not forget the context of a classical portrait, using “the drapery background, the centering of the model, playing with shadows and lighting. Sometimes, during a long conversation with the poser, his character and image on the canvas suddenly begin to change during the painting, when it is especially fun to feel the influence of each conversation on his image on the canvas. Of course, faces sometimes “escape” from my strokes and the desire to capture their uniqueness, and then the attempt and unwavering desire to search for the human soul in another painting remains.”
