Krasuckas Justinas

Complete peace and frozen silence. This is exactly what is revealed in the portraits painted by the painter Justinas Krasuckas, in which the artist opens up human relationships to the visitor’s eyes. The most interesting aspect that appears in almost all of the young artist’s works is the extremely realistic, almost academically painted portraits and completely unrealistic landscapes, an unreal environment that embraces the heroes of the works.

In the exhibition “Persona”, Justinas Krasuckas examines not only human relationships, but also seeks to reveal the inner states of a person. For this, the artist chooses a bright color scheme, often thanks to which the works create an impression of mystery and unreality. Through such color scheme, the painter tries to resonate with a person’s internal tensions and search for balance, which is why almost identical characters are depicted in some works, thus trying to reveal the duality of a person. The characters in J. Krasuckas’ works seem to be drawn into an indescribable silence, which gives them the impression of lightness. Only this impression is quickly broken – namely broken – by the angular lines, the horizontal and vertical urban elements deliberately painted in the works, disturbing the viewer’s gaze and forcing him to look deeper into the painter’s works. What is important here is no longer the similarity of the portrayed persons to a real person, but how the artist is able to convey the states of that person, his own and the surrounding environment.

Thus, in this exhibition, the painter Justinas Krasuckas not only presents the viewer with his indelible duality, but also depicts himself – indirectly, but through self-reflection and the disclosure of his feelings, depicting others. Painting for the artist is the realization of his thoughts, which in the exhibition “Persona” acquires even deeper meanings – to read a person with all his differences in strokes.
