Martikonis Vidmantas

Vidmantas Martikonis (born September 5, 1959 in Pasvalys) – businessman, Lithuanian political and public figure.
In 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of Construction of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, obtaining the specialty of an engineer-builder. In 1984, he improved his skills at the Institute for the Advancement of National Economy Specialists, in 1988 – at the Moscow Energy Workers Training Center.

In 1990, he was the head of the Installation Board of Vilnius 3rd Thermal Power Plant, in 1991, he was the director of the Construction Company of Vilnius 3rd Thermal Power Plant. In 1993-1999, he was the general director of the closed joint-stock company “Termesta”, since 1998, he was the advisor to the general director of the joint-stock company “Krašto projektai”. 1999 Consultant at UAB “Nekilnojomojo turto fondas”, 2003 Chairman of the Board.

1995 Member of the Lithuanian Liberal Union, 2003 Member of the Liberal and Centre Union, and since 2006 Member of the Vilnius City Branch of the Liberal Movement of the Republic of Lithuania.

2000 – 2003, 2003 – 2007 and from 2007-2011 Member of the Vilnius City Municipality Council.

Founder of the Vilnius Stone Sculpture Park. According to the research data of the magazine “Veidas”, during his term he was considered the richest member of the municipal council. Spouse Nijolė, daughters Birutė, Vidmantė, Gintarė.
