Petrauskas Nojus

Nojus Petrauskas (1990 – 06 – 12) – 1st year master’s student of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Department of Monumental Painting and Scenography, who has successfully defended his Bachelor of Arts degree. Nojus relies on surrealist strategies (subconscious and archetypal images, various fantasies) in his painting and scenography, drawing inspiration from 15th and 16th century Central European painting and some contemporary painters. His work is characterized by a chaotic system of images, a tendency towards the absurd, a constant balancing between the real and the unreal, between beauty and ugliness.
