Prancuitis Sigitas

1965-1974. studied at the Vilnius Art Institute. 1974-1975. Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute (since 1997 Šiauliai University), since 1975. Lecturer at the Šiauliai Children’s Art School. Since 1990. Member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union. Participated in republican and international exhibitions. has created assemblages, graphics, and monumental paintings. Important paintings: 5-part polyptych “In Memory of the Battle of the Sun” (1985), 15 paintings on the theme of folk sculpture (1989), “Dinner with a Cat” (1990), “A Man from the People” (1993), “Procession” (1994), “King David” (1998), “The Last Temptation” (1998), “Rendezvous” (1998), “The Woman of Klucio” (1997); monumental paintings: Old Samogitia (Naujoji Akmenė), fresco “Harvest” (Joniškis), etc. The paintings have been acquired by the museums of Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, the city of Etten-Leuro (Holland), and private individuals.
