Racevičius Edvardas

Edvardas Racevičius was born in 1974 in Klaipėda, where he graduated from art school and E. Balsis Art Gymnasium. For one year he worked and lived with Vilių Orvydas, and this experience gave rise to his acquaintance with such a material as wood. That year he created his first sculptures from wood. This was followed by studies at the Telšiai Seminary and theology studies at Vilnius Pedagogical University, until in 1997 the artist returned to wood sculpture and began an intensive creative path. Since 2002 he has moved to Greifswald (Germany), where he lives and creates to this day. Since 2001 E. Racevičius has held over ten personal exhibitions, participated in group exhibitions and symposiums in Germany, Britain, Lithuania and elsewhere.
