Šlipas – an artist and musician has gained international recognition in the fields of art and music.
Personal exhibitions have been held in Lithuanian cities, New York, Berlin, Leone, Moscow. Lviv.
A pioneer of interdisciplinary art in Lithuania.
In 1987, the first painting-music project Haruspicija gained international interest, toured Europe and America, and in 1990, part of the Haruspicija project was broadcast on Italian national TV.
In the same 1987, Šlipas and film director Baras, on the basis of this project – Haruspicija – created the avant-garde music group – AND EVERYTHING THAT IS BEAUTIFUL IS BEAUTIFUL.
In 2000, the group’s album “Greetings to Falkenhanui” was included in the top 100 experimental-avant-garde music albums of the 20th century, compiled in the USA (the record’s designer-artist and initiator was Šlipas).
1990-2000. Painting-music project LETHE (Šlipas and V.Labutis-music, painting-Šlipas, plate artist and initiator Šlipas) received international recognition. 2000. painting-music project – LETHE. project in Vilnius Town Hall.
Based on this project LETHE, an animated film was created, which was supported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
In 2010. in the virtual art space of England – SAATCHI GALLERy – self-portrait (100×100, oil, painting, 2010) was included in the top 50 of the best paintings in the world in 2010.
In 2006-2010. Šlipas created an unconventional post-modernist painting-object Žalgiris In Memoria, designed to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the victory. The height of this painting reaches 6.50 m. and the width is 3.50 m. The painting features two non-traditional stained glass windows.
The artist has organized more than 30 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions and projects.
